In 2002, Roxie introduced her own hand crafted and hand painted ceramic designs. She grew up and still lives in a small picturesque community of Conway, Massachusetts. She and her daughter, Ashley, and their black lab live in a log home where her studio over looks a barnyard of horses, ducks, and chickens. Roxie has 16 years experience in ceramics.
Roxie's hand crafted design of vases are uniquely hand shaped from slabs of clay by her daughter, Ashley. They have a whimsical looks of shirts with ties, bow ties, pockets, lace and ruffles. Not only do they hold a beautiful flower arrangement they can also be used as a utensil holder or a wine chiller.
Roxie has been inspired by her love of antiques to design a traditional blue & white pattern. The patterns have evolved to include sage, slate blue, and a rich gold pallet. Her personal style of a scroll design borders the hydrangea and the black eyed Susan's pieces accented with berries. Her leaf and wisteria patterns give more of a water color affect to the pieces. The floral patterns have more of a traditional feel.
Each ceramic piece is hand crafted using a slip cast mold, that is then hand painted with original designs- fired - glazed - and fired again. This process enables her to obtain a beautiful high gloss finish. All pieces are food and dishwasher safe and can be used in the microwave for reheating only.
